Hey everyone it's Anna here and thanks for coming to my channel. Today I do all
0:06
things healthy eating, meal prep, and nutrition and if that's what you're
0:10
looking for you're in the right place. So today I'm going to be talking about how
0:14
to eat healthy on a tight budget. If you're anything like me I just really
0:20
enjoy getting deals but also eating healthy while doing it. You don't have to
0:26
sacrifice one or the other. So I've been doing this for about a year and a half
0:30
so throughout that time I've been learning little tips and tricks and so
0:35
if you're wanting to get into meal prep and you still want to eat healthy and
0:40
not spend a bunch of money you know wreck your budget because of it and I'm
0:45
gonna help you right here. So some of the things that I do is like I like to get
0:49
staples. So some of the things I always buy that are really really inexpensive
0:55
and also super good for you, oatmeal. So I always get oatmeal. I might go through
1:02
an oatmeal like this in like two weeks because I'm pretty plain and I eat
1:09
basically two things for breakfast. I eat oatmeal, regular oatmeal, overnight oats
1:14
or eggs and I use actually oatmeal a lot of my different baking recipes. I grind
1:21
it up and use it as a flour, oat flour. So super easy this is like two dollars
1:28
basically so that's a good one. Another thing that I like to get is bananas
1:33
Bananas are super healthy for you. They've got potassium of course and you
1:38
can pick these up as you know they cost like a dollar less than a dollar for a
1:43
big bundle of these and then fruits and veggies you know peppers are a good
1:48
staple in your house not that expensive. Apples, sweet potatoes. I like to pick up
1:55
a bunch of sweet potatoes while I'm at the grocery store. I usually use at least
1:59
three or four of these per week. Another one is eggs. Eggs are always in my house
2:05
and I go through a lot of eggs like I said I eat either eggs or oatmeal for
2:09
breakfast. So those two things are super easy. Almond milk this one was only like
2:16
$2.50 or something. I just buy the regular almond milk original unsweetened almond
2:23
milk and I'll go through one of these maybe once a week or so. I use these in
2:29
all my things like smoothies and oatmeal and all sorts of baking so I need that
2:35
It's a problem if I don't have it. Another is cottage cheese. Cottage cheese
2:40
is pretty inexpensive and it's super good for you. It's got a ton of protein
2:44
This one has 12 grams of protein in a half a cup so if you're looking to get
2:50
protein which it is really hard to get protein. I am a vegetarian for the most
2:55
part I do eat a little bit of dairy but it's really hard to get protein if you
3:00
are a vegetarian so that's another source there. And then another one that's
3:05
always in my house is Greek yogurt. This is also very high in protein. This is 18
3:10
grams of protein in about a cup so that's a good another good one I like to
3:17
mix it with my berries. And then another one is is berries. Berries are a little
3:24
more expensive even in the frozen section but I like to shop around for
3:27
whatever deals. I usually shop at Fred Meyer or Albertsons and I usually get
3:32
good coupons from Fred Meyer so I like to use those whenever I can. And then
3:38
also in the summer when we're getting berries in from different places at the
3:41
farmers markets I like to grab those. And then the last one I like to get is some
3:46
sort of nut butter so this is sunflower seed butter but you can do peanut butter
3:52
almond butter cashew butter it really doesn't matter but this one has about
3:57
seven grams of protein and that's about two tablespoons so I like to put that on
4:02
my toast or in my oatmeal. I think I feel like a broken record talking about
4:07
oatmeal. People make fun of me how much I love oatmeal but anyway I hope you
4:11
enjoyed this video and if you want to see more like it subscribe to my channel
4:16

4:22
